Lung Cancer Awareness Month

Although smoking is the major cause of lung cancer, 10 to 15% of those diagnosed with lung cancer have never smoked.

The National Cancer Institute estimates that in 2011, there will be 221,130 new lung cancer cases and 156,940 lung cancer deaths.

As we enter into the heating season, this is an excellent time to test your home for this silent killer.

Test kits are available at home stores and through the SIL Radon Awareness Task Force, Inc website www.silradon.org..

A listing of  Illinois licensed measurement personnel can be found at www.radon.illinois.gov.
